EDSF scholarships of $1000 to $5,000 USD one-time payment are awarded to full-time undergraduates in accredited colleges or universities anywhere in the world who are committed to pursuing a career in the document management and graphic communications marketplace.
The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation aims to stimulate and reward engineering entrepreneurship in sub-Saharan Africa. The Africa Prize will encourage ambitious and talented sub-Saharan African engineers from all disciplines to apply their skills to develop scalable solutions to local challenges, highlighting the importance of engineering as an enabler of improved quality of life and economic development. Finalists will be invited to present at an event held in Africa, and a winner will be selected to receive £25,000 along with runners-up, who will each be awarded £10,000.
SPIE offers Optics and Photonics Education Scholarships and Travel Scholarships for students located anywhere in the world, from high school (pre-university/secondary) through graduate school and PhD programs, who are studying or planning to study optics, photonics, or related fields. The Optics and Photonics Education Scholarships are for high school, pre-university, secondary school, undergraduate, and graduate students. The OPEC Fund for International Development – OFID Scholarship Award is open to qualified applicants who have obtained or are on the verge of completing their undergraduate degree and who wish to study for a Master’s degree to win up to $50,000.00.
The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is offering the Wighton Fellowship in Engineering for professional or academic staff working in the engineering department of an ACU member university in a low- or middle-income country.
The Japanese Government’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) offers scholarships for academic study in Japan to foreign students interested in deepening their understanding of the Japanese language, Japanese affairs, and Japanese culture. Among other courses, engineering courses occupy a large amount of the awards given by the Japanese government. Please contact the Japanese embassy or consulate general in your country.
The College of Science, Engineering, and Food Science (SEFS), in partnership with George Boole and Presidential Merit Scholarships, awards annual scholarships to eligible foreign students to cover the difference between the EU and international tuition fees for undergraduate or master’s degree programs. These scholarships are available to international students, and selection will be on the basis of the candidate’s academic performance in his/her secondary school leaving examinations and/or first degree.
The University of Bath is offering 20 Faculty of Engineering and Design Elite MSc Scholarships, each worth £2,000, to international fee-paying students. This money is not given to students as cash but applied as a discount to their tuition fees.

The Henry DeWitt Smith Scholarship is offered annually to students studying or planning to study petroleum engineering on the Master’s or PhD level. Henry DeWitt Smith’s example of inspired leadership, professional success, personal integrity, and boundless dedication was his heritage to the mining industry, which he served all of his adult life. In his memory, the Henry DeWitt Smith Fellowship was created by his wife Ellen Burke Smith. Candidates must be members of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
The University Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from both EU/EEA as well as non-EU/EEA countries, applying for a graduate program (MSc) at the University of Twente. Field of study includes engineering, science, and technology courses.
Newcastle University offers 3 Newcastle University Nigeria Scholarship (NU Nigeria Scholarship) awards. These are available for high achieving Nigerian students applying for entry onto postgraduate Master’s degree programs, commencing in September each year. The Melbourne Research Scholarship (MRS) was established by the University of Melbourne and is awarded to high-achieving domestic and international research students. The university awards over 300 scholarships per year, including the Melbourne School of Engineering. Since 2016, the Melbourne International Research Scholarship (MIRS) has been part of the Melbourne Research Scholarship program.
Mobil Producing Nigeria offers international postgraduate Scholarships for Nigerian students to study for master’s in geosciences and engineering (petroleum, mechanical, chemical, electrical, electronics, civil/structural, pipeline, marine, and subsea).
Microsoft Research offers an annual PhD Fellowship Program for PhD students in their second or third year of PhD studies. Candidates undertaking courses in computer science, electrical Engineering, or mathematics may be nominated by their universities where they are active, full-time students in a PhD program over two consecutive academic years.

The partnership between The NRF and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) has led to the establishment of two doctoral scholarships, namely, the NRF-TWAS Doctoral Scholarship and the NRF-TWAS African Renaissance Doctoral Scholarship.
