The H&M Design Award 2020 is open for 2019 BA or MA graduating students from selected fashion design schools. Students are welcome to participate by submitting their portfolios.

About the Award: The H&M Design Award is an annual design prize for graduating students. The prize, which underlines H&M’s strong commitment to the future of fashion, was established in 2012 to support young designers’ as they begin their careers in fashion.

Eligibility:
- You must be studying at a school that is participating in the H&M Design Award 2020
- you are going to graduate during 2019 from a BA or MA qualifying program (or equivalent). You can find a list of all the participating fashion schools here.
- Your graduate collection should be based on garments, with at least 4 complete outfits. The collection can focus on womenswear, menswear or mixed collections. The primary focus of the collection should be the garments, not textiles or accessories.
- Please note that the H&M Design Award is held in English so it is important that you are able to speak and understand this language.

Value of Programme:
- The winner will be awarded a prize of €25,000 as well as a paid internship at H&M’s Head Office in Stockholm, working alongside the design team that develops our most fashion-forward collections. The paid internship includes a monthly salary, accommodation in Stockholm, as well as other benefits. In addition all finalists, except the winner, will be awarded €5,000 each for making it to the final.

How to Apply: A complete application* should contain:
- – Digital portfolio (e.g. mood boards, idea sketches and final designs from your graduate collection)
- – Entering graduate collection must include a minimum of four outfits and the primary focus of the collection should be the garments, not textiles or accessories.
- – CV in English
- – Personal cover letter in English
*Please note that we will only reply to complete applications from candidates who have a certified fashion design education from a BA or MA qualifying program (or equivalent) awarded by a fashion school participating in the H&M Design Award 2020.
