The University of Gastronomic Sciences is offering two Masters scholarships to students from developing countries enrolled in one of the Master of Gastronomy programs – either Master of Gastronomy: Food in the World (Food Cultures and Mobility) or Master of Gastronomy: Food in the World (Food Ecologies and Sovereignty) for the 2018/2019 academic year

Fields of Study: Master in Food Culture, Communication & Marketing

Type: Masters

Eligibility: Citizens from low-income countries or lower-middle-income or upper-middle-income can apply for the total fee exemption, whereas citizens from low-income countries or lower-middle-income or upper middle-income countries or high income can apply for the partial fee exemption if they meet the following requirements:

  • be in possession of a minimum level of English language equivalent to a C1-level, (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The candidate must complete an online interview with a UNISG professor (use of the webcam required) in order to verify the aforementioned minimum English language requirement;
  • income and property situation does not exceed the limits indicated above;
  • be in possession of the merit requirements stated below;
  • have completed the pre-enrollment procedures to the Master in Food Culture, Communication & Marketing for the 2018-2019 academic year;
  • be subsequently enrolled as a regular student in the program.

Selection: Applicants will be awarded points based on merit requirements, as indicated below. Should two students have the same number of points, the student with the lower income will be awarded the university fee exemption.

a) The weighted grade point average (GPA) obtained by the student, calculated based on the credits earned after each examination, must not be lower than 24/30. “With honors” commendations granted to students are considered qualitative acknowledgments of merit, and will not be considered when calculating the above-mentioned weighted average grade.
b) All exams must be passed on the first scheduled date

A control that the student has fulfilled the above requirements will be done on May 31st 2019 and at the end of the program.

Value of Program: 

  • 1 total fee exemption in the amount of € 16,500 and for the conferral of student housing and lunch service scholarship, for citizens from low-income countries or lower-middle-income or upper-middle-income countries
  • 1 partial fee exemption in the amount of € 8,000

Duration of Program: 2 years
