Cambridge Africa PhD Scholarships 2021/2022 for Students in sub-Saharan African Countries

The University of Cambridge and the Cambridge Trust are generously providing funding to enable outstanding applicants from sub-Saharan African countries to study for PhDs at the University of Cambridge.

Application Deadline: 5th December 2021

Eligible Countries: sub-Saharan African Countries

To be taken at (country): UK

Field of Study: There are no restrictions on subject areas, for these PhDs. However, preference will be given to applicants proposing to work on projects that focus on African priorities, and those who have links to African institutions.

Type: PhD

Eligibility: The scheme is open for applicatiions for those hoping to start a PhD in the autumn of 2021. Preference will be given to sub-Saharan African applicants who are linked to African universities/research institutions and working on projects that are of priority to their countries and of relevance to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Value of Award: Fully-funded

Duration of Programme: 3 years

How to Apply: To be considered for funding, complete the standard University Graduate Students’ Application Form and complete the ‘funding’ section. You can then be considered for all scholarships you are eligible to apply for.
