The West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP) at the University of Ghana is seeking to recruit an early career postdoctoral fellow (1-3 years post-PhD) to work on a malaria vaccine development project under the TIBA partnership.

About the Award: The candidate will work with dynamic researchers in the area of Plasmodium falciparum red cell invasion mechanisms and vaccine discovery. The project will require the candidate to express recombinant proteins as well as monoclonal antibodies for assays (molecular, cellular or biochemical). The suitable candidate must be able to work with high intensity and be comfortable working within a big group of scientists. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with an international and multidisciplinary team of investigators.

Eligibility:
- Must be an innovative, resourceful, and highly motivated African scientist.
- Must have completed a PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology or any related field, with a strong background in one of the following areas:Protein purification and analysis, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology and biophysics.
- Must have first-hand experience with  falciparum culturing, gene cloning, cell culture (mammalian and bacteria). Experience in protein purification and analysis will be a plus.
