Meet our facilitators for #YAEProgram Workshop this Saturday 27th April 2019

The Young African Explorers Programme (YAEP) workshop holds this Saturday 27th April 2019.

Over 400 young people applied for this pilot programme offered by After School Africa. However, 15 successful applicants have been selected to attend.

Here are the names of selected applicants for the YAEP.

Four seasoned facilitators and multi-award winners will engage intensely with the 15 participants.

Meet our facilitators

Nancy Nwachukwu

Almost unduly passionate about marketing, Nancy has assumed roles in marketing, startup incubation and brand strategy so as to enable some of the most effective marketing campaigns. She has mentored over 18 startups in core marketing strategy, under the Launchpad Africa Inititative by Google Inc. Currently, she manages marketing communications at a Chinese Mobile Internet company with multinational operations in Ghana, Kenya, Egypt and India. Asides from work, Nancy enjoys participating in social causes, spends a lot of her leisure gardening and finds travelling therapeutic.

Gideon Olanrewaju

Gideon Olanrewaju is the Founder of AREAi, a non-profit organization
focused on designing and implementing quality alternative formal and non-formal educational opportunities for out-of-school children and those in public schools. He is the Chair of The International Youth Coalition for Education (IYCE), UN Youth Ambassador, UNESCO ESD, World Economic Forum Global Shaper, Certified Education Policy Analyst, a vocal Youth Activist for Quality Education.

Gloria Ajoge-Adaba

Gloria Adaba is the founder of Thumbs up initiative; an NGO focused on building competent future Leaders. She is a people person, with a strong passion focused on serving and developing youths. Gloria is a John Maxwell Certified Life Coach. She is a graduate of polymer technology from the Federal University of Technology Minna, and a Polymer Engineering Distinction Masters’ degree holder from the London Metropolitan University.

Philip Obi

Philip Obi is a competent leader and communicator. Studied for a bachelor degree at Morgan State University, USA and for Masters at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, both on scholarships. He is currently a Senior Sales & Commercial Manager at General Electric.

The training will cover four key areas:
  1. Leadership Development
  2. Community development/Extracurricular Activities
  3. Choosing a course of study
  4. Taking advantage of scholarship opportunities

After the training, each participant will be assigned a mentor for ongoing guidance and mentorship.

We can’t wait to host our participants and stakeholders this Saturday.
