10 Honjo International Scholarship:
Honjo international scholarship is by the Honjo Foundation in Japan. The scholarship award for PhD is based on the shortest possible time a student spends on a degree. So for 1 or 2 years Honjo awards ¥200,000 per month. For 3 years, ¥180,000 per month while for 4 or 5 years is ¥150,000 per month. Travel expenses for attending an international conference will also be provided to the successful student.
9 Japan Foundation United Nations University (JFUNU) Scholarships for PhD students:
If you can demonstrate the need for financial assistance and are from a developing country, then apply for the JFUNU PhD scholarship in the field of Science in Sustainability, Development, and Peace at United Nations University, Japan. The scholarship will cover your full tuition fees, and provide a monthly allowance of 150,000 JPY for living expenses for a maximum of 24 months. But you must cover travel costs to and from Japan, visa handling fees, and health/accident insurance costs.
8 Japanese Association of University Women International Fellowship Program:
if you are a woman researcher from any part of the world, the JAUW International Fellowship Programme will offer core funding to financially help you come and stay in Japan when you have found that it is preferable or very important for you to stay in Japan to further pursue your ongoing study/research. You will receive between Yen500,000 and Yen1,000,000 to support transportation to and from Japan and cost for her stay in Japan.
7 Japan Africa Dream Scholarship:
The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship Programme is open to applicants from African development Bank member countries who have had at least 1 year of paid employment in their home country or in other African countries that is, after receiving the first Bachelors (or equivalent university) degree within the past 3 years. The scholarship program provides tuition, a monthly living stipend, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and travel allowance for you to study for a Masters degree in Japan.
6 African Business Education Initiative (or ABE Initiative) Scholarship:
ABE Initiative offers 200 slots every year to young African men and women to study at master’s courses in Japanese universities as international students (hereafter referred to as participants) and experience internships at Japanese enterprises. The aim is for them to develop effective skills in order for them to contribute to various fields. You can be sure that this scholarship is well funded.
The Ashinaga Scholarship is a 100-Year Vision to provide quality education to children orphans in Africa. Yes. Among the documents you must provide to apply is a document proving the death of one or both parents, such as a death certificate. Winners of this undergraduate scholarship can study in any university they choose in the UK, US or Japan and the cost of tuition, accommodation (during the terms and vacation), insurance, flight, and monthly stipend which covers food and necessary academic costs, will be covered.
4 Yokohama National University Masters in Infrastructure Management (IMP) Scholarships:
Yokohama National University, with a grant by the Government of Japan and the World Bank under the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJWBGSP), awards students from developing countries this inter-faculty Master’s Degree. Win this scholarship and enjoy a monthly allowance of 152,000 Japanese Yen and a round-trip air ticket to Japan plus a travel allowance of 500 US Dollars. The scholarship also covers tuition fees, the entrance examination fee and the admission fee.
3 University of Tsukuba Program in Economic Policy (PEP) Scholarships:
The PEP studies in the University of Tsukuba, is another Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJWBGSP) for students in developing countries. So, if you’re an international student from a developing country, here are two scholarships that you can apply for.
2 Kochi University of Technology (KUT) Special Scholarship Program:
Every year in April and October, the university enrolls selected international PhD students for specific research projects. The scholarship covers exemption from entrance examination fee, enrollment fee and tuition fee; travel and initial living costs.To support living expenses, 150,000 yen/month is paid for research project work.
1 Japanese Government Scholarships (Monbukagakusho) for Bachelors, Masters & Research:
Every year, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers scholarships to international students who wish to study at Japanese universities. This scholarship is richly funded with a huge allowance between 143,000yen to 148,000yen. The Japanese Govt also offers scholarships for teacher-training and scholarships into technical colleges.
