Can’t afford it? Luckily, there are fully funded scholarships in Italy for international students, and today, we have put together a comprehensive list including scholarships for African and students from developing countries.
Some courses at Italian Universities do not require the IELTS (English language) certificate. However, it is imperative to check the requirements of the scholarship before applying to know if you qualify.

The University of Bologna offers up to 48 study grants gross to deserving international students who wish to register for Single, and Second Cycle Degree Programmes at the University of Bologna.

3. University of Turin Masters Scholarship for International Students

5. University of Messina Masters Scholarships for International Students
The University of Messina has published the call for the assignment of scholarships to foreign students enrolling to a UniME two-year long Master degree programme (Laurea Magistrale)

6. Government of Italy Invest Your Talent Scholarship + Internship Program for International Students
Scholarships are awarded for Master’s degree at Italian Higher Education Institutes, (state-owned institutions or institutions legally recognized by the relevant state authorities) partners of the Invest Your Talent in Italy Program. The program includes the attendance of a mandatory internship at selected Italian companies’ partners of the initiative.

7. SDA Bocconi School of Management Scholarships for African Students

8. MBA in International Business Scholarship
MIB School of Management of Trieste in Italy is pleased to announce a scholarship competition for applicants to the XXI Edition of the MBA in International Business.

Value of Scholarship: The Scholarships will go toward tuition fees to attend the XXI edition of the MBA in International Business programme from September to September. 9. Cattolica Africa Scholarship Program for African Students
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, as part of its mission to foster relationships with developing countries, has developed a special program for students from the African continent. 10. United Nations/Italy Long-term Fellowship Program for Developing Countries
The 2nd Level Specializing Master on Navigation and Related Applications is a joint initiative of Politecnico di Torino and Istituto Superiore Mario Boella (ISMB) with the collaboration of the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRIM) and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. The II Level Specializing Master is a post graduate academic program (taken after a Master of Science program) that provides high quality training. It provides students with professional knowledge and skills needed in the navigation sector.

11. Italian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students
The Italian Government awards scholarships for studying in Italy both to foreign citizens and Italian citizens resident abroad (IRE). The aim of these scholarships is fostering international cultural cooperation, spreading the Italian language, culture and science knowledge and promoting the economic and technological sectors of Italy all around the world.

12. Coimbra Group Short-Term Scholarship Program for Young Researchers in Sub-Saharan Africa
Universities of the Coimbra Group offer short-term visits (generally 1 to maximum 3 months) to young African researchers from higher education institutions from Sub-Saharan Africa. The main aim of this scholarship programme is to enable scholars to undertake research in which they are engaged in their home institution and to help them to establish academic and research contacts.

13. CICOPS Scholarships for Developing Countries – University of Pavia
In 1996, the Technical-Scientific Committee of CICOPS approved a scholarship project aimed at fostering research collaboration between academic from Developing Countries and the University of Pavia. The scholarships were designed for junior and senior members of universities in Developing Countries or members of major research centers and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies.

14. European University Institute (EUI) Policy Leaders Fellowships for Young Policy Professionals
The Policy Leaders Fellowship of the School of Transnational Governance provides a unique opportunity for policy professionals from around the world to further develop their policy work and professional skills whilst participating in workshops, training and skills development sessions, conferences and other events, in addition to interacting with the other fellows, policy makers and the academic community at the EUI.

18. Politecnico di Torino International Scholarships
Get in here if you are an engineering or architectural design student. The Politecnico di Torino has several scholarships for international students to study academic programs in Engineering or architecture fields. One of the scholarships, the Eni Project, is a 20,000 Euro grant for graduate students who are not Italian citizens to attend 2-year masters in Petroleum and Mining Engineering. There are several of these international scholarships. You need to apply early when they are open, usually at the beginning of the year before April, to win them.
19. EDISU Piemonte Scholarships
All Students including international students enrolling in a full-time Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree courses at one of the Universities of Piedmont, that is, The Politecnico of Torino, the University of Torino, the University of Eastern Piedmont, can apply for EDISU scholarships if they meet the merit and economic requirements of the competition. Part-time students can apply if enrolled in a bachelor’s degree. The Scholarships in Italy for International Students varies depending on many conditions. Accommodation service can also be granted to non-resident students.
20. Padova International Excellence Scholarship Programme
The University of Padova offers Scholarships in Italy for International Students wishing to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completely held in English in Padova. The scholarship includes a gross allowance of € 12,000, and a tuition fee waiver for 1 year.
21. Scuola Normale Superiore PhD Scholarships
Scuola Normale Superiore offers more than 70 fully funded PhD Scholarships in Italy for International Students. All students admitted to the PhD program receive full financial support. This includes tuition, fees, free meal, and a cost-of living scholarship. All students will be assigned further funding for their research activity and travel.
22. Luiss University ENI Scholarships for African Students
ENI scholarships are dedicated to international students coming from Angola, Mozambico, Ghana, Congo, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria. Scholarships are available for students admitted to a Luiss Bachelor’s Program totally taught in English. Students are not required to send/upload additional documents, just to regularly apply for one Luiss program following the instructions reported here.

23. International Masters in Rural Development (IMRD) Scholarship for Students in Developing Countries
The International Master in Rural Development (IMRD), offers the opportunity to become an international expert on rural development in its diversity of approaches and applications. Scholarships for masters and undergraduate students in developing countries are offered by both the European Commission (as it is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree EMJMD course) and the Belgian Government VLIR-UOS.
