The Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, is seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow in Children’s Rights in Africa, and will be hosted within the Children’s Rights Unit of the Centre.

About the Award: The post-doctoral fellow will be hosted within the Children’s Rights Unit of the Centre. The Unit undertakes research and advocacy on various aspects of children’s rights in Africa, and works closely with the African human rights system, especially the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, to enhance accountability for the protection of the rights of children on the continent.
The Unit also collaborates with a number of other child rights institutions from across the continent on various initiatives, including hosting the advanced short course ‘Children’s Rights in Africa’ which is offered in collaboration with the Centre for Child Law at UP and the Children’s Rights Project of the Dullah Omar Institute at the University of the Western Cape.
The prospective post-doctoral fellow will work closely with the team at the Centre’s Children’s Rights Unit, under the supervision of the Centre’s Assistant Director.

Value of Award: The fellowship provides a reasonable compensation package in accordance with UP’s terms for temporary post-graduate posts.
