Join us for an exciting summer! We invite Master and Ph.D. students from Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, South and South East Asia who participate in the In-Country / In-Region Scholarship Programme of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to apply for our upcoming four-week summer school on “Contested Governance”, to be held at the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute, University of Freiburg, Germany, 1-27 September 2020.

Application Deadline: 1st March 2020, 23:59 CET.

About the Award: The 2020 summer school will run for four weeks (1-27 September 2020) and include an intensive programme discussing different aspects of governance and its multiple challenges. Participants will learn how actors in the governance system, e. g. civil society, interest groups or state officials, constantly form and reform governance systems – in Europe as well as in the global South. In addition to thematic learning, the summer school will offer training courses in social science methods and soft skills. Excursions to Bonn, Frankfurt and Strasbourg will round up the programme. Teaching and communication language is English.

How to Apply: Applications should contain (a) an updated CV(b) a letter of motivation (max. 2 pages), (c) a recommendation letter from a university professor and (d) a transcript of hitherto study achievements (grades).
