Skype too does provide end-to-end encryption protection for users. But this function is not enabled in their default setting. You have to manually alter the setting to use Skype’s end-to-end encryption. The end-to-end encryption provided by WhatsApp, which is also the default setting, is what makes a lot of people prefer using WhatsApp for private Communications because there seems to be a better guarantee of data and privacy protection.
However, be warned against swallowing this lie hook-line-and-sinker, because WhatsApp is owned by Facebook. A company notorious for using people’s data without their consent and a company that relies heavily on data refining to operate.
Similarly, Skype is owned by Microsoft, another company heavily interested in user data. So never believe anything these people say about keeping your data private and not using it because it never happens like that. For data economy, WhatsApp is the better option between the two.
