Douar Tech, in partnership with AfriLabs and L’Agence Française de Développement, invites female entrepreneurs from across the African continent to take part in the Marana Digital Expert Talks & Women’s Network!

About the Award: The Marana Digital Expert Talks were designed to bring together a collective of strong female leaders and industry experts in response to a need for deeper relationship-building for African women in the tech space. Participants in the Marana Women’s Network may take part in exclusive sessions with industry leaders, collaborate with other members on our Slack channel, and are eligible for $500 micro-grant boost funding.

The Marana Digital Expert Talks welcomes female entrepreneurs between ages 18-35 years across the African Continent. For each session of the Marana program, Douar Tech will select 20 female beneficiaries to participate in the session representing a diversity of regions across the Continent.

The Marana Digital Expert Talks will be held from 10 March-9 April 2021 for 10 exclusive sessions hosted in English with leaders in the digital fields across topics from financial inclusion to mental health. Upon acceptance to the Marana Women’s Network, all participants will be invited to a dedicated Slack channel, cultivating a community of 200 female beneficiaries across the Continent.

Type: Entrepreneurship

Eligibility: Each participant of the Marana Women’s Network must commit to creating at least one output of digital content (videos, social media posts, blogs) for an audience in her respective country through local language. The aim of this initiative is to trickle down digital skills programming and knowledge to vulnerable groups that are typically unable to access content due to language barriers.

Once participants of the Marana Women’s Network have participated in a session and shared local language content online, she is eligible to receive micro-grant funding through the Marana Women’s Network. The aim of this micro-grant program is to provide initial funding for female leaders to create greater impact in their local communities.

Value of Award: The fund will afford $500 grants to 10 female leaders from across the Marana Women’s Network.
