CICOPS Scholarships 2023: To promote international cooperation, particularly with Developing Countries, the University of Pavia and EDiSU (Institute of the Right to University Studies) provides 5 scholarships to visiting scholars for the year 2023 for a period of stay of 4 to 12 weeks at the University of Pavia.

About CICOPS Scholarships: In 1996, the Technical-Scientific Committee of CICOPS approved a scholarship project to foster research collaboration between academic from Developing Countries and the University of Pavia. The scholarships were designed for both junior and senior members of universities in Developing Countries or members of major research centers and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies.

Since 1998, the University of Pavia and the Institute for University Studies (EDiSU) have offered about ten scholarships yearly for a four to ten-week stay in Pavia. During that time, the scholars conduct research with professors in the department that hosts them and often hold seminars.

Type: The CICOPS Scholarships are dedicated to professors and researchers from developing countries who wish to conduct research with a professor at the University of Pavia.

Selection Criteria and Eligibility

  • The scholarships were designed for both junior and senior members of universities in developing countries or members of major research centres and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies.
  • Applicants must have at least two year of either teaching experience or activity within international organizations and institutions.
  • CICOPS scholarships are foreseen for research collaboration in the short period (from 4 to 10 weeks) to encourage the mobility of researchers from developing countries. They cannot be awarded in case of doctoral studies or enrolment in a Postgraduate course at an Italian University.

Number of Scholarships: 5

Value of CICOPS Scholarships: Scholarship includes travel (economy class), board and lodging expenses, and pocket money of 150.00 Euro (gross) per week.

Duration of Scholarship: from 4 to 12 weeks.
