Tell Me About Award: The Uganda Independence Scholarship Trust Fund (UISTF) was established by Act of Parliament in 1964 for awarding scholarships to Ugandans in support of Higher Education especially masters and PhD degrees. Section 2(1) of the Act vests all the money and other property The Fund in the Board of Trustees of the UISTF all of which shall be held. administered, controlled and managed in accordance with the provisions of this Act. The Board of Trustees of the UISTF is established as a body corporate.

Who can Apply?

  1. Applicants must have a letter of admission from a recognized Institution / Chartered University in
    Uganda.
  2. Applicants should have enrolled for the Academic year 2022/2023
  3. Applicants should hold a first degree with at least an Upper Second-Class Honors in the relevant field from a recognized Institution/ Chartered University.
  4. Applicants for PhD should have a Master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized Institution/ Chartered University
  5. Applicants must have at least a two-year work experience in the relevant field.
  6. Applicants must provide letters of recommendation from their employers.
