SAP, a global technology company, is supporting 400 amazing young people to learn technology skills👩🏿‍💻 and specialise in SAP software and services💻. Multinational software corporation SAP SE (SAP) commits to its partnership with UNICEF in support of Generation Unlimited (GenU) for an additional three years to help prepare young people for the workforce.  

The partners will pilot a new programme that supports ‘learning to earning’ pathways in the digital and green economy for marginalised young people providing them with the skills they need to flourish. The new programme will be piloted – leveraging GenU signature programme Youth Agency Marketplace (YOMA).

By the end of the first year, SAP and GenU plan to reach more than 500,000 young people with opportunities for foundational and digital skills. The partnership will also support the SAP Educate to Employ initiative, which aims to educate youth aged 16–24 years on soft skills, foundational knowledge and SAP skills using the student zone on the SAP Learning site, where students can learn about the latest SAP solutions for free to kickstart their career.

Which Fields are Eligible?

There are three SAP Specialisations, namely:

  • Developer Associate: This is for someone interested and preferably with experience in development focusing on coding, testing, quality assurance of software features in a development team under the mentoring or coaching of an experienced person. 
  • Technology Consultant Associate: This is for someone interested and preferably with experience in the implementation and operation of technical systems, the support of planning and execution of solution deployments and the  setup and connectivity of integrated systems.
  • End User Support Associate: This is for someone interested and preferably with experience in supporting incoming applications, website and system navigation and troubleshooting and using documents and tools to support customers.

The purpose of the SAP Specialisation is to add to your existing skills to make you more hireable, especially within the SAP ecosystem.

The SAP courses offer learners with pre-existing technical and soft skills to specialise in one of the three career tracks and provides learners who are successful a potential opportunity to become part of the SAP ecosystem in the future- from anywhere across Africa!

How Long will Award Last?

Each SAP Specialisation consists of 2-3 courses of approximately 20-40 hours each. This means that completing a specialisation will take you approximately 100 hours.
