The Department of Neurology at Cairo University has partnered with the World Federation of Neurology (WFN) with support from the Association of British Neurologists (ABN) to announce a one-year visiting fellowship position for a newly trained African Neurologist.

The purpose of the one-year general neurology fellowship is to improve neurological training on the African continent, provide the selected applicant with the opportunity to network with new colleagues and promote future collaboration. There will be a one-year general neurology fellowship in Cairo. The language of instruction will be English.

Project Description

A one-year fellowship in general neurology will be available from the WFN at Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt.

Enhancing neurological training across Africa, networking with new colleagues, and promoting future collaboration are the goals. 

The language of instruction will be English.

Timeframe

The visit will occur between September 2024 and August 2025 of the following academic year.

Benefits

The following assistance will be provided to the visiting fellow:

  • Reimbursement for one round-trip economy ticket from the Fellow’s home nation to Cairo.
  • Payment for housing reimbursement for the academic year.
  • a monthly stipend to cover living expenses (food and drink) for the duration of the school year.
  • During the visit in Cairo, health insurance and medical malpractice insurance (to be arranged by the hosts) will be provided.
  • The University of Cairo will receive the scholarship amount and reimburse the fellow for their out-of-pocket expenses.
