Chancellor’s International Scholarships at the University of Sussex (2024)

The Chancellor’s International Scholarships is for international students who have been offered a spot at the University of Sussex for 2024 and have demonstrated great grades thus far. International Masters applicants are eligible for a restricted number of scholarships. Only those with exceptional academic achievement and potential will be considered for these highly competitive positions.

Award amount: £5,000

Type of award: tuition fee reduction

Funding type: Sussex funded

Who is eligible for the Chancellor’s International Scholarships?

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

• Be classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes.
• Be taking up a full time Masters degree, starting September 2024.
• Be self-financing
• Have exceptional academic grades.

Qualifications advice

Who isn’t eligible for the Chancellor’s International Scholarships?

You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:

• Are applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
• Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex.
• Are studying an online course
• Are already holding another University of Sussex scholarship (i.e the Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship)
• Are studying one of the Excluded courses listed below:

Excluded courses for the Chancellor’s International Scholarships

You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:

• Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE)
• Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
• Courses at IDS
• Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher Status)
• Degrees in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
• Online courses
• Schools direct teaching courses.
• Masters funded by the research councils (e.g., ESRC 1+3 funding)
