How to Apply
All backgrounds are encouraged to apply for the Fulbright Program, but especially those with disabilities. Binational Fulbright Commissions, Foundations, or U.S. Embassies oversee the Fulbright Program for Foreign Students and Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (FLTAs). These offices handle all applications for the FLTA Program and foreign students.
Fulbright Foreign Student Program Benefits and Eligibility
Every year, the Fulbright Foreign Student Program provides about 4,000 grants to international students so they can pursue master’s or doctoral degrees and carry out research on American college campuses.

Eligibility Requirments:
- Reside in the country of nomination at the time of application.Â
- At the time of the program’s start date, possess the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree with a good academic record.Â
- Are fluent in English, as demonstrated by a recommended recent score of no less than 550 (paper-based TOEFL), 79–80 (internet-based TOEFL – IBT), or 6.5 (Overall Score International English Language Testing System – IELTS); test scores can be submitted to IIE by indicating the institutional code 2326 on the day of the test.
- Do not hold U.S. citizenship; dual citizens are not eligible for program participation.

Note that students cannot apply for programs with clinical requirements such as dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, or nursing. Please note that fields of study such as public health and nursing administration are permitted.
