Reach out to a faculty member in your subject of interest before beginning the application process. The USP website has a list of faculty members along with a synopsis of their study areas. This is an important stage since you will hear directly from the experts about research ideas and funding opportunities.

How do I apply for the University of São Paulo (USP) Scholarships 2024?

You should submit your applications through the FUVEST website, under the “Área do Candidato” section. You’ll be required to upload specific documents, as outlined in the official notice on the site.

For international applicants:

• If you don’t have a CPF number (a Brazilian tax identification number), reach out to FUVEST using the FALE CONOSCO link with CPF number 999.999.999-99 for guidance.
• Good news! International applicants do not have to pay the application fee. Simply email posgrem@eesc.usp.br after completing your application to request a fee waiver.

Required Documents

• Letter of Interest: You must obtain this from one of the program’s faculty members. Templates are available on the university’s website.
• Letter of Employment and Residency: This letter, which you will sign, verifies your employment status and residence. A template is provided online.
