Application Deadline

The deadline for the application of the standard Bank Group Bursary Programme 2024 For South African Students is 30th, September 2024.

Bursary Benefits

Furthermore, the Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund covers the following study and study-related costs:

University fees.
Accommodation – in a university residence or in private accommodation. Private accommodation costs will be subject to certain limits, to be explained to successful candidates upon the provisional bursary allocation.
Meals – provided by the university or self-catering.
Books and other study materials.
A laptop computer.
A monthly stipend to cover other living costs.
Transport between home and campus 4 times a year at the cost of a bus ticket.

Additionally, to qualify, candidates must be well-good academically, with strong performance in any of the following fields:

Accounting
Actuarial science
Analytics
Commerce
Computer and data science
Economics
Engineering
Finance
Information technology
Investments
Mathematics
Statistics.

Undergraduate Bursary

Again, the undergraduate bursary is for students who have completed their first year of studies and require funding from their second year onwards. Applicants should have a well-rounded profile with excellent academic results in the funded qualifications.

Selection criteria:

Applicants must have achieved an average of 65% and above in the latest examinations.
Applicants must be registered for full-time undergraduate studies.
Also, applicants will be required to participate in a formal assessment process including but not limited to Psychometric evaluation and an interview.
Finally, financial need is considered in applications.

Postgraduate Bursary

Also, the Standard Bank Group Bursary offers full-cost bursaries to financially needy and academically strong students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in the funded study fields.

Selection criteria:

Applicants must have achieved an average of 65% and above in the latest examinations.
Applicants must register for full-time postgraduate studies at a public South African institution of higher learning
Also, applicants will be required to participate in a formal assessment process including but not limited to Psychometric evaluation and interview.
Finally, financial need is considered in applications.
