Applications are now open for the MYCOS Scholarships 2025 for PhD Students who want to study in Australia. The Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI) and the University of Innsbruck (UIBK) have announced an excellent opportunity for PhD candidates who want to pursue research in antimycotic resistance through the MYCOS research program.

This program is designed to encourage advanced research using the “One Health Approach.” The program has funding for 11 PhD candidates over three years. MYCOS brings together experts from various fields at the Innsbruck campus to address issues in infection, immunity, transplantation, and biointeractions.

The deadline for the application for the MYCOS Scholarships 2025 for PhD Students is May 15, 2024, at 23:59 CET. Other important dates include:

Available PhD Projects

Candidates may choose from a variety of engaging projects, including:

  • The impact of azole fungicides on the environment and health.
  • Investigating azole resistance in fungi from different habitats.
  • Exploring innovative treatments for azole-resistant pathogens.

Each project aims to provide significant contributions to both science and clinical practice, preparing candidates for a career in medical and natural sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

Also, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Master’s degree in natural sciences, medical sciences, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English at the C1 level (Cambridge, TOEFL-IBT, IELTS) or native speaker status.

Application Process

Initial Phase

  • Submit your application: Fill out the online form at (https://www.mui-mycos.at/content/home/application/) before May 15, 2024. Remember, once you submit, you cannot modify your application.
  • Check your status: On June 3, 2024, applicants can check their status online. Successful candidates will move to the next stage and submit additional documents.

Online Interviews

  • Interview scheduling: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for online interviews to be held from June 10-14, 2024.

Matching Process

  • Final selection: Candidates will be matched with PhD projects based on their preferences and the interview outcomes.
