About the Award: ACU Fellowships facilitate collaboration at a distance and the creation of valuable new partnerships between member universities in different countries. From climate action to engineering, we have a wide variety of fellowships available in 2023 across different fields for ACU member university staff. This funding is intended for virtual collaboration only and will not fund physical travel.​

Fellowships

The following ACU Fellowships are available: 

  • 1 x Accountancy â€“ Supported by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
  • 1 x Agriculture, Forestry & Food Science – Supported by George Weston Limited.
  • 1 x Canada Fellowship – Outgoing – Awarded to a staff member at a Canadian ACU member university to partner with an ACU member university outside Canada. Legacy funding by Gordon and Jean Southam.
  • 1 x Canada Fellowship – Incoming – Awarded to a staff member at an ACU member university outside Canada to partner with an ACU Canadian member university. Legacy funding by Gordon and Jean Southam.
  • 1 x Wighton Engineering – Only open to applicants from low and middle-income countries.
  • 1 x Hong Kong Jockey Club – Outgoing â€“ Awarded to a staff member from a Hong Kong ACU member institution to partner with an ACU member institution outside Hong Kong.
  • 1 x Hong Kong Jockey Club – Incoming â€“ Awarded to a staff member at an ACU member outside Hong Kong to partner with an ACU member institution in Hong Kong.   
  • 1 x Information Technology and Computer Science  – Supported by the Jacky McAleer Memorial. 

Fellowships which do not have a specific subject attached are tenable in the following fields:

  • Education
  • Health and related social sciences
  • Information technology and management
  • STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects
  • Sustainable development
  • University development and management

Type: Fellowships

Eligibility: The fellowships are primarily intended for academic and professional staff of ACU member universities. In some circumstances they can be used for collaboration between universities and the private sector – for more details of this please email [email protected]

Eligible Universities: ACU member universities

Number of Awards: 18

Value of Award: The maximum value of each fellowship is GBP 5,000.

How to Apply:

  • Be an academic or professional services staff at an ACU member university
  • Applicants must first already have or identify and approach a collaborator at an ACU member university in a country other than the one where the applicant is employed.
  • Review the Application Guidance.
  • Submit an application through the online application form:
