The application deadline for the Japan Water Forum (JWF) Fund program 2024 is 17 July 2024. 

Tell Me About The Japan Water Forum (JWF) Fund 2024:

 The Japan Water Forum Fund (JWF Fund) was founded in 2005 and is operated solely by JWF.  The JWF Fund aims to contribute to the solution of local water-related issues in developing countries by assisting in the implementation of sustainable solutions led by grass-roots organizations.  Every year, the JWF publicly seeks out projects to assist and provides grants of up to USD1,500 per project, adopted through an assessment process.  We value projects that utilize local resources, knowledge, and technologies, and include a sustainable operations and maintenance scheme.

Who can Apply for the Japan Water Forum (JWF) Fund?

Interested applicants should ensure they meet the following criteria: 

• Open to active local grassroots organizations in nations or territories designated as LMIC, LIC, or LDC by the OECD’s DAC list.
• Applications are not accepted from:
  • National or local governments
  • Commercial businesses
  • Funding organizations
  • International organizations
  • Religious organizations

Additionally, include your website and/or social media page in the application form to receive information about the listed requirements. The eligible projects include: 

• Building or maintaining a reservoir or well as a source of water supply
• Setting up a small-scale water supply infrastructure
• Building or renovating facilities related to sanitation and hygiene
• Upkeep and enhancement of the ecosystem around water resources
• Setting up or encouraging the use of a water-efficient irrigation system
• Putting in place a program to reduce the risk of disasters related to water
