CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, offers practical training for students interested in Material and Surface Science or Chemical Engineering. As a student, you will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology and gain valuable experience in various areas including mechanical testing of materials, magnetic measurements, metallography, surface treatment, optical and electronic microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and radiochemistry.

Who can Apply for the Geneva Switzerland Technical Scholarship 2024?
Interested candidates must ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- Have completed at least 18 months of undergraduate studies (Bachelor’s or Master’s) by October 2024.
- Remain registered as a full-time student during the internship.
- Have a good knowledge of English or French.

- CV: Clearly labeled and in PDF format.
- Academic Transcript: Ensure it is not protected if downloaded from a university portal.
- Reference Letter: Mandatory from a University Professor; additional letters from previous internships are welcome.

What is the Benefit of the Geneva Switzerland Technical Scholarship?
Successful candidates will benefit the following:
- A contract of association from 4 to 12 months.
- An allowance of 3452 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).
- A travel allowance.
- Depending on your personal circumstances, a supplement if you are married and/or have children.
- Coverage by CERN’s comprehensive Health Insurance scheme (the contribution will be automatically deducted from your allowance).
- 2,5 days of paid leave per month.
