International Student Entrance Scholarship

Faculty of Engineering International Student Entrance Scholarships

  • Programs: All Engineering programs except Architecture
  • Number and Value: Up to 20 scholarships valued at $10,000 each

Faculty of Mathematics Global Scholarships

  • Programs: Most programs in the Faculty of Mathematics
  • Number and Value: Up to 10 scholarships valued at $12,000 to $40,000

Who can Apply?

Additionally, applicants must also meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Strong academic record and high grades.
  • Meeting the specific grade or GPA requirements for each scholarship.
  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time program at the University of Waterloo.
  • Must have a valid Canadian study permit and be registered full-time, paying international tuition fees.
  • Normally given to students entering the first term of their program.
  • Must demonstrate academic excellence as per criteria set by their Faculty.
  • Must meet academic progress requirements and have no outstanding probationary admission requirements.
  • Normally, they should not receive foreign government or agency sponsorship concurrently or be self-funded above Faculty support levels.
  • Automatically considered for awards based on the application for admission; Faculties and departments select recipients based on eligibility criteria.
