When is the Application Deadline:

The deadlines for applying to the University of Oxford’s various Master’s programs are as follows:

29th January 2025: Continuing Education, Law, and other remaining courses.

15th November 2024: Some courses

3rd December 2024: Medical Sciences and some other courses

7th January 2025: Humanities courses

8th January 2025: Mathematical, Physical, and Life Sciences courses

9th January 2025: Some Social Sciences courses

28th January 2025: Other Social Sciences courses

Tell Me About The Award:

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Oxford funds a rigorous one-year Master’s course at Oxford aimed at equipping Scholars with relevant technical, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills and connecting them to world-leading resources in their respective sectors. Key elements of the scholarship program include adequate support and preparation for students to take up their studies, intensive emphasis on life skills beyond academia, and support for a lifelong network of alumni. Each Scholar will benefit from the highest caliber training in specific disciplines critical to solving pressing problems, including food systems, health sciences, sustainable water and energy systems, governance and public policy, and entrepreneurship, among others. Their programs will center on the four AfOx themes relevant to Africa’s Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals: Healthy People, Integrated Societies, Green Futures, and Innovation for Prosperity.

Who can Apply?

Interested applicants should ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be citizens of an African country.
  • Applicants should have an excellent academic record and meet the admission requirements for the University of Oxford.
  • A completed undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Applicants must apply for a full-time Master’s course at the University of Oxford that is part of the scholarship program.
  • Courses should align with the fields of study emphasized by the program, such as health sciences, sustainable energy, public policy, and entrepreneurship.
  • The program encourages applications from groups historically under-represented in higher education, including but not limited to female scholars, refugees, and individuals with accessibility needs.
  • Proficiency in English, meeting the University of Oxford’s language requirements.
