Tell Me About OWSD WISDOM:

With generous financial support from Sida, and assistance from UNHCR, OWSD is launching a new Masters Scholarship Programme to support displaced and refugee women wishing to pursue a Masters of Science in STEM fields in countries such as Jordan. The new OWSD Masters Scholarship scheme will initially provide around 25 comprehensive scholarship packages to women for up to 24 months’ study. The project will also focus on capacity building, working with selected institutes on gender-sensitive policies and raising awareness around protection needs.

Who can Apply for OWSD WISDOM?

The OWSD WISDOM scholarships are offered to refugee women candidates pursuing master’s degrees in the natural, engineering, information, and technology sciences (STEM fields).

Candidates must:

• Be a holder of valid International Protection Applicant ID or International Protection Status holder ID or Temporary Protection ID issued by the Provincial Directorates of Migration Management (PDMMs)
• hold a bachelor’s degree from an academic and/or research institution (including international research centers)
• be in Türkiye at the time of application

How to Apply for OWSD WISDOM:

If interested to apply, the process is as follows:

STEP 1) apply to Istanbul Aydin University (IAU) before 8 August 2024.

STEP 2) Submitted applications will be reviewed by a joint expert panel from IAU and OWSD. During this stage, candidates will be shortlisted and then either selected directly or invited to an interview. If interviews are recommended, they will be conducted by a Selection Committee. Based on interview performance and application materials, the Selection Committee will recommend the top candidates for scholarship awards.

STEP 3) Awarded candidates will be informed of the outcome latest by September.
