About the One Young World Leading Africa Scholarship:

One Young World is a global community for young leaders, focused on increasing social impact, building skills, and elevating profiles locally and globally. The annual One Young World Summit brings together 2,000 young leaders from over 190 countries to address major global challenges, facilitated by esteemed political, business, and humanitarian leaders. Delegates gain access to a global community of over 15,500 young leaders, enabling them to accelerate their social impact initiatives or start new ventures.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Access to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada
  • Hotel accommodation between September 17-21, 2024
  • Catering (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
  • Travel costs to and from Montréal (flights must depart from and return to the same international airport)
  • Note: Visa fees and associated costs must be covered by the participant

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Aged 18-30* (considerations for those older based on impact and engagement)
  • Evidenced commitment to delivering positive change
  • Demonstrated capacity for leadership
  • Addressing key local and/or global issues in their work
  • Track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas
  • National (passport holding citizen) of an eligible African country

Selection Process:

  • Strongest applicants will be shortlisted by mid-May 2024.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted individually by One Young World team members.
  • Priority given to applicants from less represented countries and first-time Summit attendees.
  • Due to high application volumes, feedback on individual applications is not provided.
