The application deadline for the Fully Funded UNESCO Women in Science Masters Scholarship 2024 is  August 8, 2024. 

Tell Me About The Award:

In the face of ongoing conflicts, violence, human rights violations, and climate change, a significant number of women scientists are forced to leave their homes and countries. Many of them are not able to resume their studies after experiencing displacement.

Also, the Women in Science Displacement Outreach Master’s Program (OWSD WISDOM) is a new initiative addressing the challenges these women encounter.

OWSD (UNESCO) has partnered with two universities in Jordan and Türkiye to offer fully-funded master’s degree scholarships to those women who have sought refuge in those countries.

Which Fields are Eligible?

The 2024 OWSD WISDOM Master’s scholarships are for women refugee students pursuing master’s degrees in the natural, engineering, information, and technology sciences. A full list of eligible scientific fields can be consulted here.

Who can Apply?

Also, the OWSD WISDOM scholarships are offered to refugee women candidates pursuing master’s degrees in the natural, engineering, information, and technology sciences (STEM fields). Candidates must:

• be a holder of a valid refugee status (Temporary Protection, International Protection, or International Protection Application Certificate)
• hold a bachelor’s degree from an academic and/or research institution (including international research centers) 
• be in Türkiye at the time of application
