The UMGF aims to recognize and support academic excellence in full-time master’s and PhD students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and academic accomplishment. Over $2 million dollars in fellowships are awarded annually.

Who can Apply for the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF)?
- Students must:
- Have a minimum admission GPA of 3.0 (specific departments may have higher GPA requirements)

- Be registered full-time in the graduate program recommended by their department for the UMGF
- Not be in a pre-master’s or occasional student status

- Doctoral: 12, 24, 36, or 48 months, depending on the duration of the program and the time completed
