The Young Inventors Prize rewards those who innovate with a purpose and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Aimed at individuals 30 and under, the Prize showcases the transformative power of youth-driven solutions and recognizes the remarkable young people paving the way to a more sustainable future.

Who can Apply For The European Patent Office (EPO) Young Inventors Prize 2025?

Also, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Individuals or groups globally, aged 30 or younger at the time of the award ceremony.
• The project must address a problem within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
• The project must utilize a solution from any technological field.
• Applicants can be of any nationality.
• Only public or published projects are eligible.
• Each entry must include supporting documents such as granted patents, utility models, published scientific papers, business plans, videos, documentaries, or web articles.
• Supporting documents are evaluated based on their weight, with granted patents being more influential than less formal publications like blog posts.

Also, each of the ten Tomorrow Shapers will receive a certificate and a monetary prize of EUR 5,000. In addition, each of the three winners of the special prizes will receive an additional EUR 15,000, a trophy, and a winner’s certificate. The winner of the People’s Choice will receive an additional EUR 5,000.
