The University of Bayreuth Centre of International Excellence “Alexander von Humboldt” promotes excellent research at the University of Bayreuth (UBT) and advances the internationalization of research and networking with the best universities worldwide. All Fellows will have the awarded sum at their disposal to cover all costs of project realization. Fellows accompanied by at least one child receive an additional monthly family allowance of 250€.

Also, the programs are open to international scholars with innovative research projects of top academic quality. Applicants must identify a local host at the University of Bayreuth to collaborate with during their research stay.
Selection is based on a highly competitive, strictly merit-based process, with an emphasis on the academic excellence of both the applicant and the proposed project.

Fellowships last for approximately 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of dividing the stay into several stages. Also, short-term grants last for about 1 to 3 weeks.
