The David Nason Journalism Scholarship honors the legacy of Australian journalist David Nason. It supports Australian students or journalists pursuing graduate-level studies or investigative projects in the United States. The scholarship awards up to US $20,000 to one recipient to assist with travel, living expenses, tuition, or other associated costs.
This scholarship is specifically for students or professionals in digital, print, broadcast, or multimedia journalism.

Selection is based on academic merit, the quality of the investigative project or study plan, and the applicant’s potential to contribute to journalism. Applicants must submit various supporting documents, including a budget, resume, academic transcripts, and letters of recommendation.

The award supports studies or investigative projects at accredited institutions or media outlets in the United States.

The scholarship provides up to US $20,000 to cover expenses such as travel, living costs, tuition, or other educational or project-related expenses. The scholarship can be combined with other sources of funding.
The scholarship supports graduate study for a minimum of one year or an investigative project for at least three months.
Applicants must submit their applications online during the submission period. Required documents include a high-resolution headshot, a video presentation, a passport biographic page, an offer or acceptance letter, academic transcripts, a resume, a detailed budget, and letters of recommendation. Applications must be submitted by the March 31 deadline, with recommendations due one week later.
