The Fulbright Commission, sponsored by Radboud University, is offering scholarships to excellent American students for study and research purposes at the graduate level at Radboud University in Nijmegen, Netherlands.

When is the Application Deadline:

Scholarship applications for 2025-2026 open on 2 April 2024 and close on Tuesday, 8 October 2024, at 5 PM (Eastern Time). Applicants must apply separately to Radboud University by 1 January 2025 for admission to the Master’s programme of their choice.

Tell Me About The Award:

The Fulbright-Radboud Scholarships are offered by the Fulbright Commission, sponsored by Radboud University, to support excellent American students pursuing graduate-level study and research at Radboud University in Nijmegen. The scholarship is applicable to all English-taught Master’s and Research Master’s programmes at Radboud University, excluding Erasmus Mundus Master’s programmes and joint or double degree Master’s programmes.

Which Fields are Eligible?

All English-taught Master’s and Research Master’s programmes at Radboud University, except for Erasmus Mundus and joint or double degree programmes. Specific faculties include:

  • Faculty of Science
  • Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies
  • Faculty of Arts
  • Nijmegen School of Management
  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Medical Sciences

Note: U.S. students currently residing in the Netherlands or those with dual U.S. and Dutch/EU citizenship are not eligible.

What is the Benefit of the Award?

For one-year programmes:

  • €1,550 per month for 11 months
  • Up to €1,000 reimbursement for international travel
  • Residence permit cost covered by Radboud University
  • Insurance costs covered by Fulbright

For two-year programmes:

  • €1,550 per month for 12 months in the first year, and 11 months in the second year (subject to satisfactory progress)
  • Up to €1,000 reimbursement for international travel
  • Visa and residence permit costs covered by Radboud University
  • Insurance costs covered by Fulbright

How Long Will the Award Last?

The duration of the Master’s programme (one or two years).

Applicants must first apply to the Master’s programme at Radboud University via their online application process, opening 1 October 2024. After securing admission, they should apply for the Fulbright-Radboud Scholarship via the Fulbright website.
