Tell Me About The Honjo International Graduate Scholarship 2025 To Study In Japan:
This scholarship is open to foreign students who study or plan to study in a Japanese graduate school for a doctoral or master’s degree. Applications can be submitted from abroad if applicants are accepted to a Japanese graduate school. All nationalities and research fields are welcome. Also, applicants may directly apply to the foundation without pre-selection by the university.

Who can Apply For The Honjo International Graduate Scholarship 2025 To Study In Japan?
Also, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- The student must not be a Japanese citizen.
- The student must be enrolled in or applying for a graduate program in Japan starting in April 2025. Both current students and those not yet enrolled, including those currently working, are eligible if they will be enrolled by April 2025. Those starting in the fall of 2025 can also apply.
- Students in professional graduate schools are generally not eligible unless they can submit a research plan.
- The program must last longer than 12 months.
- PhD applicants must start their program by age 35; master’s applicants by age 30 (no exceptions).
- The student must plan to serve their home country in the future.
- The student must understand the importance of international friendship, attend Foundation events, and join the alumni network.
- The student must be able to speak basic Japanese. Interviews will be in Japanese (no exceptions).

Additionally, the amount of scholarship depends on differs based on the period as below:
¥230,000 per month for 1 ~ 2 years degree
¥210,000 per month for 3 years degree
¥180,000 per month for 4 ~ 5 years of degree

- Enter the “online application system.” Fill out the application form and upload the required files and documents. The movie which the applicant talks about his/her research for two minutes is required.
