This International Partnership Scholarship celebrates and welcomes international students to the University of Otago | Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka, university members of our University community, and is awarded to students coming to study through one of our articulation partner agreements.

- Semester 1 (February start): December 10 (the year before study)
- Semester 2 (July start): April 30

The International Partnership Scholarship at the University of Otago | Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka is designed to welcome and support international students coming through articulation partner agreements. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 and is awarded as a credit towards tuition fees for eligible students.
Which Fields are Eligible?
Undergraduate degree-level study in any field offered by the University of Otago.

Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship.
Who can Apply for the International Partnership Scholarship?
International students who:
- Have completed secondary (high) school or attended an approved institution overseas.
- Intend to enroll, or are already enrolled, in a full-time undergraduate degree program at the University of Otago.
- Plan to undertake at least four semesters of study on campus at the University of Otago.
- Are applying through one of the University’s approved articulation partner agreements.
How are Applicants Selected?
Selection is based on academic potential, evaluated through previous academic results from a partner institution.
Which Countries Are Eligible?
Students from any country outside New Zealand who meet the eligibility criteria.

At the University of Otago | Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka, New Zealand.
How Many Awards?
The number of scholarships offered varies annually.
What is the Benefit of the Award?
- The scholarship is valued at $10,000, applied as a credit towards tuition fees.
- For students starting in Semester 2 (July), half of the scholarship amount ($5,000) will be applied in Semester 2, and the remaining half ($5,000) in Semester 1 of the following year.
How Long Will the Award Last?
One year.
