Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an international student.
- Have an unconditional offer for a full-time PhD or master’s by research program within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney, with the intent to transfer to a PhD after the first progress review.
- Provide evidence that your stipend allowance is being paid by a third-party sponsor or is university-funded.
- Apply for and be considered for the Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship (International).
- Not be the recipient of an RTP or equivalent primary scholarship that provides academic course fees.

Selection Criteria:
- Academic Merit: Based on academic achievements, the proposed area of study, and research potential.
- Faculty Priorities: Preference may be given to students with supervisors who are early to mid-career researchers and whose research aligns with the Faculty’s strategic priorities.
- Selection Committee: The decision is made by a committee comprising the Faculty Associate Dean (Research), Associate Dean (Research Education), and School Research Education Directors.

- Apply for Admission: Submit an application for a full-time PhD or masterโs by research program within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney and obtain an unconditional offer.
- Apply for RTP Scholarship: After applying for the program, submit an application for the Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship (International).
- Express Interest: Contact the Engineering HDR team at [email protected] to express interest and provide evidence of stipend funding by a third-party sponsor or university-funded.
Additional Terms and Conditions:
- The scholarship may not be transferred to another research area or supervisor without prior approval.
- Recipients must remain enrolled full-time and maintain satisfactory academic performance to retain the scholarship.
- The scholarship is subject to funding availability and may be terminated if the recipient receives an alternative scholarship of equal or higher value or becomes an Australian Permanent Resident.
