The Florence Bamidele Makanjuola Scholarship for Women (FBMSYW) is an initiative of the Opekete Foundation. It was created in memory of its founder, late Mrs Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (FBM) and is available for young women in Secondary and Tertiary institutions intending to or currently enrolled in the fields of Nursing and Teaching [in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Who can Apply For The Florence Bamidele Makanjuola Scholarship For Nigerian Students?
Also, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be female, Nigerian, and meet the minimum academic qualifications required for the scholarship.
- They must pass an aptitude or behavioral test and have gained admission to, or be currently enrolled in, a public university.
- Applicants should either be attending or intending to attend a public or federal government-owned Senior Secondary School or University, with plans to study teaching (STEM) or Nursing.
- A motivational essay is necessary, explaining why they should receive the scholarship and detailing any extenuating circumstances that make them unable to afford tuition.
- For Senior Secondary School applicants, a minimum of 5 As or Bs in English, Mathematics, and three other major subjects in Junior WAEC is required.
- For university applicants, they need a minimum of 5 As or Bs in English, Mathematics, and three other major subjects in WAEC/NECO. Nursing applicants must have As or Bs in English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, while Teaching applicants need As or Bs in English, Mathematics, and three STEM-related subjects.
- Applicants must meet the required cut-off score in JAMB for their course and school and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 for continued university funding.
- Secondary School awardees must maintain a 65% average across all subjects, while University awardees must achieve a minimum 3.5 out of 5 CGPA each semester to stay in the program.
