Tell Me About The International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) Youth Forum:

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Youth Forum, known as “The New Generation of Decision Makers,” will convene from 9 – 13 January 2025 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This forum, held alongside the fifteenth session of the IRENA Assembly, provides a platform for young people to engage with global leaders, government officials, and experts in renewable energy. Through interactive sessions, debates, and workshops, youth delegates will contribute to discussions on accelerating renewable energy deployment and advancing global climate and sustainable development goals.

Who can Apply For The International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) Youth Forum?

Also, applicants are to meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Applicants must be young individuals who have an interest in renewable energy and the global energy transition.
• Participants are to attend and actively participate in high-level plenaries.
• They must engage in expert debates and roundtable discussions.
• Attendance at workshops and seminars is necessary.
• Delegates must take part in interactive activities and youth circles.
• Participation in high-level bilateral meetings is important.

How are Applicants Selected?

• The event strives for a global and balanced geographical representation of youth and highly encourages applications from youth in LDCs, SIDS and developing countries.
• Upon selection, full sponsorship, including travel and accommodations, will be provided for up to 35 participants.

Additionally, the opportunity comes with the following benefits:

• Youth from Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and developing countries are highly encouraged to apply.
• Selected participants will receive full sponsorship for the event.
• Sponsorship includes coverage of travel expenses.
• Accommodations will be fully provided for up to 35 selected participants.
