Tell Me About The UNDRR African Youth Art Competition:

In celebration of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2024, a Youth Art Competition is being launched to raise awareness about disaster risk reduction. Young artists, both amateurs and professionals, are to submit artwork that fits the theme, “Empowering the next generation for a resilient future.” The submitted art will be displayed at the Africa Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Windhoek, Namibia, from 21-24 October 2024. Organized by AYAB, SEM, and UNDRR, the competition aims to increase awareness of disaster risk reduction while showcasing the talent and perspectives of young people.The competition can feature the following types of art:

  • Photography
  • Video
  • Painting/drawing
  • Sculpture
