Who can Apply for the Abdul Samad Rabiu (ASR) Africa Initiative Scholarship Grant Scheme?
Also, applicants are to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled in or recently admitted to a full-time undergraduate program at Khalifa University, Kano.
- The scholarship is open to students nationwide for the listed courses.
- Current students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale.
- New applicants need at least 8 credits in WAEC/NECO and a UTME score of 200 or above.
- The scholarship aims for a gender balance of at least 60% Female and 40% Male beneficiaries.
- Applicants should come from diverse backgrounds and regions.
- 100 beneficiaries will be from Kano State, and 400 will be selected from other regions.
- A letter of intent is necessary, detailing passion for the field, career goals, and how the scholarship will help.
- Current students must provide letters of recommendation from professors or academic advisors.
- Involvement in relevant extracurricular activities will be considered.
- Community service or initiatives showcasing commitment to societal betterment will be evaluated.
- Financial need will be considered in addition to merit.
- Applicants must be in good standing with the university and free from disciplinary issues.
- Demonstrated commitment to long-term educational and career goals is necessary.
- Preference will be given to females with a strong commitment to STEM fields.
- Depending on applicant volume, interviews or essays may be used as a secondary selection step.
