1. How the Pilot Works:
The Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) helps skilled refugees and displaced persons immigrate to Canada. There are two ways to apply:
- Regional EMPP: Apply through one of three economic immigration programs (Atlantic Immigration Program, Provincial Nominee Program). You must be eligible for and apply first to a province, territory, or community, depending on the program.
- Federal EMPP: Apply directly through the EMPP, with either a Job Offer or No Job Offer stream. You need to meet specific work experience, education, and language requirements.
EMPP waives application and biometric fees, processes applications within six months in most cases, covers medical exam costs, provides access to the Immigration Loans Program, and offers settlement support programs.
