Tell Me About The Institute of Advanced Study Fellowships:
Each year, around 20 scholars are selected for residential fellowships at the Institute. Approximately half of the scholars work on projects aligned with the designated annual theme, while the other half pursue independent research. The program is open to both junior and senior scholars from diverse fields within the social sciences and related disciplines. Fellows, known as “Members,” benefit from access to campus resources, including offices, libraries, subsidized dining services, and housing.

Who can Apply For The Institute of Advanced Study Fellowships?
Also, applicants are to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent, awarded no later than October 15th of the year in which they are applying (i.e., the IAS application deadline).
- Fellowship is residential and for the full academic year (September–May).

What is the Benefit of the Award?
Additionally, the School seeks to provide 50% of the base salary, with the expectation that the Member’s home institution, sabbatical funding, and/or other grants will cover the remainder. The maximum stipend is $80,000. Factors affecting stipend calculation include base salary, availability of leave pay and other institutional support, and/or other grants/awards.
