The Afrobarometer Emerging Scholars Workshop aims to enhance data collection, analysis, and use skills among early career researchers in Africa. As part of its commitment to building research capacity across the continent, Afrobarometer brings together emerging scholars and experienced academic mentors. The workshop focuses on utilizing Afrobarometer’s extensive open-access datasets to produce impactful analytical outputs. It also aims to strengthen mentoring networks across African research institutions and offer professional development opportunities for researchers.

Who can Apply For The Afrobarometer Emerging Scholars Workshop?
Also, applicants are to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Researchers must use Afrobarometer data and have a draft paper or research proposal.
- Open to early career researchers who earned their PhD within the last seven years or started an academic job in the past five years.
- Researchers from fields related to Afrobarometer data are eligible.
- Applications must be in English, and successful applicants will present in English.
- The workshop welcomes young people, nursing mothers, and those with disabilities.
- The workshop covers travel, accommodation, and meals; participants cover personal costs and extra expenses.
- Accommodation will be at Future Africa Campus in Pretoria, and economy flights will be booked.
