Innovation, Transformation, and Resilience for Sustainable Development is a comprehensive graduate-level course aimed at building the capacity of professionals from low-income countries to drive innovation and foster resilience through sustainable development.

This is a graduate-level capacity-building course designed to explore the role of innovation in transforming economies and enhancing social resilience in the context of sustainable development in low-income countries. The course is part of the African Science, Technology, and Innovation Indicators (ASTII) Initiative by AUDA-NEPAD, with funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). It aims to equip participants with the ability to develop and use STI indicators for development planning and policy at various levels.

Professionals with relevant experience in the above fields and university-level studies. Applicants must also provide an English language certificate, a motivation letter, and a letter of recommendation.

Where will the Award be Taken?

The course includes an online introduction (9 April 2025 – 4 May 2025), an in-person segment in Sweden (6 May 2025 – 23 May 2025), and an online final seminar (last week in June 2025).

20 participants will be selected.

What is the Benefit of the Award?

Sida will cover costs related to participation, accommodation, meal allowances, and international travel to and from Sweden. Participants are responsible for personal expenses like visas and vaccinations.

How Long Will the Award Last?

The course runs from 9 April 2025 to 30 June 2025, with the in-person component from 6 May 2025 to 23 May 2025 in Sweden.
