The Virtual Library Programme provides 12 months of digital access to selected e-resources at the Nordic Africa Institute’s library. It aims to support early career researchers engaged in Africa-oriented research by offering access to specialized literature on contemporary Africa.

Early career researchers based in Africa, including those employed by African universities or research centers, and postdoctoral researchers within 5 years of completing their PhD. The research must be relevant to UN Agenda 2030 and NAI’s core impact areas.
Selection is based on the strategic priorities of NAI, considering the effectiveness of capacity development support and the fair distribution of scholarship positions. Priority is given to researchers from less well-resourced institutions.

Access is provided digitally, so there is no physical location requirement.
A limited number of places are available.
Access to a range of Africa-specific e-resources, including African books, journals, and digital platforms. Note that financial or in-kind support is not provided.
