The OIST research internship program is for those who have graduated with a bachelor’s or master’s degree and are interested in joining the OIST PhD program as a Research Intern. A research internship at OIST gives students experience working in a research environment directed by OIST faculty.

The OIST Research Internship offers educational experiences to students interested in research. Interns will work in research environments under OIST faculty supervision. The internship prepares students for higher academic endeavors, like pursuing a PhD program at OIST.
The fields eligible for the OIST Research Internship are science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), aligning with the research conducted at OIST.

Selection is competitive and based on the suitability of the research, academic background, and availability of funding and space. Not all positions may be filled. Applications from women and underrepresented groups are encouraged.
