Fully-funded Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships to Study in the UK and South Africa 2025/2026

For the 2025–2026 Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships, applications are now being accepted. The next round of Beit Scholarships to be given is for the academic year beginning September 2025 for universities in the UK; and January 2026 for universities in South Africa.

  • The Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships support students to pursue a Master’s degree at select partner universities in the UK and South Africa. The scholarships aim to contribute to developing the applicants’ home countries in key fields such as medicine, health, engineering, education, and economic growth.

Which Fields are Eligible?

  • Fields that contribute to the development of Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, such as:
    • Medicine
    • Health
    • Engineering
    • Education
    • Economic growth
    • Agriculture
    • Conservation

Type:

  • Postgraduate scholarships for Master’s degrees only.

Who can Apply for the Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships?

  • Nationals of Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Malawi who are permanent residents, live there and intend to return after their studies.
  • Applicants must have a distinction or merit (Upper Second Class) in their undergraduate degree and relevant professional work experience.

How are Applicants Selected?

  • Selection is based on academic capability, work experience, leadership qualities, relevance of the course of study, and the applicant’s intention to return to their home country after completing the degree. Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews by national scholarship boards in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi.

  • The number of awards varies annually based on available resources.

What is the Benefit of the Award?

  • Full coverage of tuition fees, academic expenses, personal maintenance allowance, laptop allowance, economy class travel, and other necessary allowances. No provisions for spouses or dependents.

How Long Will the Award Last?

  • One-year taught Master’s programs in the UK.
  • Two-year taught Master’s programs in South Africa.

How to Apply for the Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships:

  1. Apply directly to one or more of the Beit Trust partner universities.
  2. Once accepted, apply for the Beit Trust Scholarship.
  3. Submit supporting documents including a medical certificate, university offer letter, degree results, CV, personal statement, passport, and references (academic, character, and employer).
