The Hoffman Agency HBCU Scholarship supports diversity in the communications industry by offering tuition and fees coverage for a California Community College student transferring to an HBCU to study communications. The scholarship is managed by the LPJ Foundation.

Who can Apply for the Hoffman Agency HBCU Scholarship?
Students currently enrolled at a California Community College during the 2024-2025 academic year who have been accepted to one of the 30 HBCU partners under the California Community College Guarantee program.
How are Applicants Selected?
We are looking to reward a California Communicate College student transferring to an HBCU who:
- Cares about others and their surrounding community
- Values education
- Shows a passion for language and communications.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled at a California Community College during the 2024-2025 academic year.
- Applicants must provide a letter of acceptance from one of the 30 HBCU partners that participate in the California Community College Guarantee to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
- Applicants must major in a discipline that fall under the communications umbrella at their attending HBCU.
- Applicants must complete the application process by March 14, 2025.
- The Selection Council reviews the applications and identifies the top candidates in March.
- Heather and Lou Hoffman interview three candidates and announce the scholarship recipient in April.

Which Countries Are Eligible?
Applicants must be attending a California Community College, so the scholarship is limited to U.S. residents.
Where will the Award be Taken?
The scholarship applies to any participating HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) where the recipient will pursue a communications degree.
How Many Awards?
One scholarship will be awarded.
What is the Benefit of the Award?
The scholarship covers tuition and fees for the recipient’s junior and senior years at an HBCU.
How Long Will the Award Last?
Two years (junior and senior years).
