The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Abroad Program offers full scholarships for U.S. high school students to study abroad for an entire academic year. The program is designed to promote cultural exchange and foster international understanding by immersing students in the culture and language of their host country.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the program aims to foster international understanding and intercultural connections. Participating students will live with host families, attend local high schools, and become immersed in their host country’s language and culture.

Who can Apply for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad Scholarship Program?

- Be currently enrolled in high school (grades 9-12)
- Be between 15 and 18.5 years old on the program start date
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership potential
